Making
A difference

Veterinário em Domicílio

This is us.

A family dedicated to housing, loving, and protecting aging-out teens whose families have never done so.

How?
Psalms 68:6 says: "God puts the lonely in families".

Our house is too small but our land isn't, so we house them in shipping container units. This allows them time to work and study until one day they're mature and independent enough for adult life.

What does Stoa Solomontos mean?

Solomon's Porch

is Stoa Solomontos in the original Greek.

Areas of Involvement

Community

We all need to live in society. Loneliness and the inability to interact with people closes doors to opportunities. We believe in helping the young people in our group develop social skills, allowing each of them to forge their own path in life through connections with people, which may begin as an ALLIANCE but later becomes a FRIENDSHIP.

We do our best to teach respect, loyalty, boundaries, responsibility, and honor.

Work

By law, minors are not allowed to carry out some basic everyday tasks while living in the shelters (such as cooking and cleaning) because it crosses a thin line into child labor laws.

This unfortunately creates a "gap", in their notional of responsibility, basic life skills and work ethic.

It's necessary to teach these youth some basic concepts about work and handling money, including: opening their first bank account, how to use credit and debit cards, and basic budgeting.

They need to be taught about self-sufficiency and the value of work. Therefore, we seek to guide young people towards getting or maintaining their first jobs.

Education

We value and prioritize the education and learning of our young people.
There are many variables, because for some, the education plan for life means completing a university degree, while for others the dream is a technical course.
At Stoa Solomontos, we encourage all levels of pursuit of learning in life, whether through regular educational institutions or through organizations that offer life experiences, such as the courses offered at YWAM units, which open doors to knowledge development and closeness to God's plans.
